Roxie Elizabeth (Day) Vaughn Gilman, 99, of Fulton, passed away at Fulton Manor Care Center on October 25, 2012. She was born October 11, 1913 in Boone County, the daughter of the late John William Day and the late Lucinda Frances Dobson. She was united in marriage to Ira D. Vaughn and then to Jewel McKiney Gilman, who both preceded her in death. Roxie will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by two sons, Gerald Wayne Vaughn and wife, Betty, of Calwood, and Kenneth Dale Gilman and wife, Mira, of Calwood; two daughters, Doris May Dudley and husband, George, of Calwood, and Mary Louise Giboney and husband, Marvin, of Calwood; one nephew, Charles Martin and wife, Doris, of Fulton; 16 grandchildren, 29 great- grandchildren, and 15 great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and her husbands, Roxie was preceded in death by two sons, William Arthur Vaughn and Richard Lee Gilman; one brother, James Arlee Day; one sister, Ruby Frances Martin; four grandchildren, Roger Vaughn, Gene Vaughn, Kimberly Vaughn, and Rachel Giboney; and one great granddaughter, Jessica Fischer. Roxie enjoyed flowers and reading. She also enjoyed spending time with her family and her dog, Rocky. Funeral services will be at 1:00 pm on Monday, October 29, 2012 at Maupin Funeral Home in Fulton with Rev. Mike Crowson officiating. Visitation will be from 12:00 pm until the time of service, also at Maupin Funeral Home. Interment will be held at New Hope Cemetery.
