Katie Marie Tenney Evers, 90, of Columbia, Missouri, passed away on Thursday, May 16, 2019 at The Bluffs in Columbia. Katie was born on June 18, 1928 in Callaway County to the late Luther and Ora Rose Davis. She was married to Jack Tenney on October 12, 1946 and he preceded her in death in 1994. She then married Norbert Evers on May 31, 2002 who preceded her in death in 2018. She attended Fulton Public Schools and had worked at the Stride Rite Shoe Factory where she met her future husband, Jack. Katie then owned and operated "Nails by Katie" in Columbia and was still seeing customers until two years ago. Katie had been attending Fulton Bible Baptist Church and she enjoyed dancing, collecting antiques, gardening and watching birds. Katie was a lifetime member of the V.F.W. and she was very proud of her memberships in the American Legion and the Eagles Lodge in Columbia. Survivors include her sons, Jack M. Tenney Jr. and his wife Robin and Byron E. Tenney and his wife Connie; one daughter, Joette Tenney Daigle and her husband Dave; one sister, Helen French and her husband Raymond; grandchildren, Jack Luther Tenney and his wife Cassie, Thomas Nathanael Tenney and his wife Alicia, Crystal Rybold and her husband Jeff, Dan Tenney and his wife Danielle, Laura Bergman and her husband Danny, Lindsey Sharp and her husband Chris, Odette Zeugin, Felicite Hass and her husband Brian and Zach Sutherland; along with 35 great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, James and Ernest; and her sisters, Bertha, Hallie and Ruby. Funeral services will be officiated by Rev. Thomas Tenney at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 21, 2019 at Debo Funeral Home in Fulton. Burial will follow at Callaway Memorial Gardens in Fulton. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Compassus in care of Debo Funeral Home, 833 Court Street, Fulton, MO 65251.
