Joan Clark, 80, of Fulton passed away on Thursday, February 28, 2019 at Boone Hospital Center. She was born on November 4, 1938, in Highland, Illinois, the daughter of the late Charles Gerstenecker and the late Frieda (Diepholz) Gerstenecker. On August 12, 1962, Joan was united in marriage to Peter Clark. He preceded her in death on January 6, 2012. Joan was raised in Collinsville, Illinois and graduated from Collinsville High School. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Fulton. Prior to retirement, she worked as an administrative assistant for AZZ. She was an avid sports fan who loved to watch the St. Louis Cardinals and the Mizzou Tigers. When she was younger, Joan was a member of Callaway Hospital Women's Auxiliary and Kiwanis and enjoyed bowling. In more recent years, she enjoyed watching her grandchildren grow and attending their sporting events. Joan was the rock of her family; her strength will live on through her family. Joan will be missed by son, Jim Clark (Lisa) of Fulton; daughters, Robin Cima (Steve) of Florissant, and Amy Caswell (Clay) of Fulton; grandchildren, Lindsey and Lucas Cima, Taylor (Brett) Clark, Haley Clark, and Paige Reese (Andy), Tucker, Jackson, and Rylee Caswell, and great-grandchild, Jameson Clark. In addition to her parents and husband, Joan was preceded in death by brothers, Charles and Harold Gerstenecker; sisters, Frances Brett, Neva Jackstadt, Carol Curran, and Charlotte Eckart; and granddaughter, Devin Caswell. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 5, 2019 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Fulton with Pastor Chris Heaton officiating. Friends will be received from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Monday, March 4, 2019 at Maupin Funeral Home in Fulton. Interment will be in Callaway Memorial Gardens.
