Willie Mae Tate, age 85, made her transition on Tuesday, June 25, 2019 at The Bluffs Senior Living Home in Columbia, Missouri. Willie Mae was born October 28, 1933 to Dolly McGriff and Willie Collier Jr. of Beggs, Oklahoma. Willie Mae was united in holy matrimony to Basil Anthony Tate Sr. in Crawford, Arkansas on October 23, 1950. They resided in Beggs, Oklahoma for a number of years until they decided to move to a farm in Auxvasse, Missouri. With this union seven children were born. Willie Mae is survived by four sons, Leroy (Rochelle) Tate of Windsor, California, Charles (Carolyn) Tate of Shorewood, Illinois, Fred (Mary) Tate of Stone Mountain, Georgia, Harold Lee Tate of Auxvasse, Missouri; two daughters, Dr. Betty (Rev. Kevin) Veasy of McKinney, Texas and Barbara (Danny) Richmond of Lawton, Oklahoma; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, along with a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and other relatives and friends. Willie Mae was preceded in death by her parents, Dolly and Willie Collier Jr.; one sister, Ethel Collier; three brothers, Leroy Collier, Arte Collier, and James Collier; a son, Basil Tate Jr.; and a great-grandchild, Xavion Bryant. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 10 at 11:00 a.m. at Second Missionary Baptist Church in Mexico, Missouri. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. at the church. Burial will be at Beggs Cemetery in Beggs, Oklahoma at 11:00 a.m., Friday, July 12, 2019.
