Delbert Wayne Hampton Sr.

Delbert Wayne Hampton Sr., 90, of Fulton, Mo., passed away on Monday, September 24, 2018 at Missouri Veteran's Home, Mexico, Mo. Delbert was born on August 5, 1928 in Reform, Mo., the son of Amos and Mattie (Thorp) Hampton, who preceded him in death. He was married on May 29, 1952 in Mokane, Mo. to Sylvia Autenrieth. Delbert was a veteran of the US Marine Corps serving during the Korean War. He retired in 1990 from the maintenance department at Westminster College. He enjoyed fishing, traveling and fixing things that no one else could. Survivors include: his wife, Sylvia Hampton of the home; three sons, Delbert Hampton Jr. (Megan) of Fulton, Mo., Dennis Hampton (Carol) of Oxford, Miss. and Darren Hampton (Lynn) of River Falls, Wis.; one sister, Sally Harper (Bert) of Bolivar, Mo.; and nine grandchildren, Jacob Hampton, Caleb Hampton, Zachary Hampton, Hunter Hampton, Elliot Hampton, James Hampton, Mattie Hampton and Melinda Hampton. He was also preceded in death by three brothers and four sisters. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 25, 2018 at Debo Funeral Home, Fulton, Mo. Funeral services will be on Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Bruce Williamson and Rev Aaron White officiating. Burial will be in Callaway Memorial Gardens in Fulton, Mo. with full military honors.
