Gaye Snyder

Gaye Snyder, 85, of Fulton, passed away on Thursday, January 11, 2018, at Fulton Nursing and Rehab. She was born in Port Arthur, Texas on December 12, 1932, the daughter of the late Rufus Dyer and the late Clementine (Nipp) Dyer. Gaye was married to Conrad Snyder I who preceded her in death. Gaye spent her life making a home for her family. She was a member of First Baptist Church. An artistic soul, Gaye was a talented painter. She also enjoyed crocheting, cooking, sewing, writing poetry, and pottery. Above all, she loved time spent with her family. Those remaining to cherish her memory include sons, Frank J. Cates (Lendora) of Pinellas Park, Fla., Jac Cates (Nancy) of Roodhouse, Ill., Erin Aden of Wy., Conrad Snyder IIl. (Tamara)of Bradenton, Fla., Eric Snyder (Charleen) of Jonesville, S.C.; daughters, Joyce Fisher (John) of Roodhouse, Ill., JoAnne Blincoe (Dan) of Bucyrus, Kan., Jill Mellion (Robert) of Burlington, Vt., and Chryel "Missy" Snyder of Fulton; step-sons, Darren and D'Wayne Snyder of Ore.; brother, Michael Dyer (Charlene) of Chicago, Ill.; 18 grandchildren; and 43 great-grandchildren. Gaye was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Jon Cates; brothers, Robert, Randall, Swayne, and Eugene Dyer; and sisters, Calvin Darnell, Mignon Taylor, Patricia Dyer and JoAnne Dyer. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 20, 2018, at Maupin Funeral Home in Fulton with Frank Cates II officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Interment will be in Wellsville cemetery.
