Marie V. Schmidt

Marie V. Schmidt, 85, of Kingdom City, Mo., passed away Friday, September 8, 2017, at Lenoir Woods in Columbia. She was born September 24, 1931, in Americus (in Montgomery County, Mo). She was the daughter of the late Alvin Frank Stockhorst and Veronica Elizabeth (Van Booven) Stockhorst. On November 16, 1950 she was united in marriage to James E. Schmidt, who preceded her in death. Mrs. Schmidt was employed by Samuel Shoe Company for many years. After retirement, she enjoyed gardening, caring for her flowers, babysitting children in her home, fishing and spending time with her grandchildren. She will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by her son, Edward (Marta) Schmidt of Kingdom City; daughter, Linda (Michael) Offineer of Fulton; grandchildren, Wendy Gomez Campos of Denver, Colo., Carmen (Curt) Schafer of Auxvasse, Scott Schmidt of Kansas City, Mo., Rene (Andrew) Revelle of Eldon, Mo.; one great-grandson, Isaac Brownell of Denver, Colo.; and sister, Mildred Keeney of Fulton. Funeral services will be Wednesday, September 13, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Debo Funeral Home in Fulton with Father Frank Bussman officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, September 13 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Debo Funeral Home in Fulton. Entombment will follow at Callaway Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
