Ruth Mae Pate

Ruth Mae Pate, 91, of Fulton, Missouri, passed away on Saturday, February 25, 2017, at Presbyterian Manor in Fulton. Funeral services will be at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 4, 2017, at Debo Funeral Home in Fulton. Burial will follow at Callaway Memorial Gardens in Fulton. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the time of services at the funeral home. She was born on September 12, 1925, in Crawfordville, Arkansas to Richard and Lucy Tilson Hopkins who preceded her in death. Ruth moved to Fulton from St. Louis in 1989, and was affectionately known as "Granny Hopkins" in the Fulton area. She will be remembered as a great cook who was always willing to share her recipes and give others cooking lessons. She is survived by sons, Zachary (Anita) Hopkins of Fulton, Richard (Glenda) Hopkins of St. Louis, Gerald Hopkins-Bey of Memphis, Tennessee; daughter, Ann (Charles) Hall of Chicago, Illinois; step-daughter, Willa Curry of Memphis; brother, Eugene (Deborah) Norman of St. Louis; sister, Theresa Davis of St. Louis; thirty one grandchildren and many great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and other loving family members. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin Pate; daughter, Elsy Mae Hopkins; brother, Ray Hopkins and sister, Olivia Lax. Online condolences may be made at www.debofuneralhome.com
