Robert Wright Maddox

Robert Wright Maddox Sr. 93, of Fulton, passed away on February 17, 2017, at Villa Marie Skilled Nursing Home in Jefferson City. He was born on December 3, 1923 in Callaway Co., the son of the late Grant and Pricie (Wright) Maddox. Bob was married to Betty (Hoffman) Maddox on December 16, 1950. She survives his passing. Bob was a graduate of Auxvasse High School, the class of 1941. He worked at the Fulton State Hospital for 22 years until his retirement. He enjoyed being a 4-H leader for over 25 years and was a lifelong farmer. More than anything, Bob loved spending time with his family. His memory will be treasured by his wife of 66 years, Betty; sons, Robert W. Maddox Jr. (Madalyn) and W. Dale Maddox, both of Fulton; daughters, Lynda Hetherington of Overland Park, Kan. and Mary Jane Kemna (Mike) of Gallatin, Mo.; 12 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Along with his parents, Bob was preceded in death by daughter, Joan Maddox; brothers, Ray, Milton and Paul Maddox; sister, Annabell Sullivan; daughter-in-law Janice Maddox. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 21, 2017, at Ebenezer Baptist Church with Rev. W.D. Lockhart and Rev. Mike Steeves. Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. on Monday, February 20, 2017, at the Maupin Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Ebenezer Baptist Church Cemetery.
