Emmett Edward Farris, 86, of Fulton, Missouri, passed away on Friday, August 11, 2017, at Boone Hospital Center in Columbia. Emmett was born May 23, 1931 in Williamsburg, Missouri to Charles and Ethel Lander Farris Sr., who preceded him in death. He was married on January 2, 1959 in Fulton to Carol "Junie" Lepley and she survives. He was an active member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Fulton. Emmett enjoyed collecting arrowheads, guns, knives and old cars, but his greatest joy was being a part of the annual hunting trips to the Deer Shack with his family and friends. Survivors also include his daughter, Rhonda Platek of Portland, Missouri; brother, Donald Farris of Mexico, Missouri; sister, Margaret Brewer of Fulton; grandchildren, Lance Brandow and Katie Brandow; along with seven great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by his son, Ronald D. Farris; daughter, Christina Farris; brothers, Charlie Bill, Tiny, Plum and Arthur Lee; and one sister, Patricia. Funeral services will be officiated by Rev. David Mueller at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 14, 2017 at Debo Funeral Home in Fulton. Burial will follow at Callaway Memorial Gardens in Fulton. Visitation will be from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 13 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul's Lutheran Church or a charity of donor's choice.
