Billie Reeves Willett, 88, of Fulton, passed away Friday, July 28, 2017, at Lenoir Woods in Columbia, Mo. She was born on January 17, 1929 in Fulton, youngest child of David Reeves and Ruth Davis Reeves. In 1971 she was honored at the Nixon White House as the Military Wife of The Year for her years of community service, her tireless support of charities and activity with the Officer's Wives Clubs in the many U.S. Army posts at which her husband was assigned. When they retired to their family farm in hometown of Fulton, she was active in Callaway County Democratic Party and was a delegate to 1984 national convention in San Francisco, authored a children's book "The Adventures of Jenny", and continued their life of travel in their beloved Airstream attending Airstream Rallys in the US and Canada. Her generous spirit will be very much missed by her daughter, Robin Taylor of Florida; her grandson, Dave Taylor, his wife Dawn, their son David of Alabama; and special caregiver, Kelly Pickens of Fulton. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Emerson Willett; her parents; siblings, Frances Shultze, J.D. Reeves, Celeste Brooks, Marjean Rice, and Betty Hood. Private services will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please seriously consider pet adoption or donating much needed supplies to your local humane society, one of her favorite charities. Condolences may be left for the family at maupinfuneralhome.com.
