Bernadine Elizabeth Clingman

Bernadine Elizabeth Clingman, 100, died Tuesday, April 18, 2017, in Fulton, Missouri. Bernadine was born March 28, 1917 in Mokane, Missouri, the daughter of the Walter J. and Emma E. (Benskin) Eldringhoff. She was united in marriage to Elvin M. Clingman on April 30, 1938 at St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church in Mokane, Missouri. He preceded her in death on July 21, 2002. Bernadine was a member of St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church her entire life. She grew up working on her family's farm and loved being outdoors. She lived in the Acorn Community outside of Mokane until she moved to Fulton in 2013. She enjoyed growing plants and flowers, crossword puzzles, crocheting rugs, and quilting. She retired from the Fulton State Hospital in 1979. She will be remembered for her positive attitude and the unconditional love she gave her family and friends. Left to cherish her memory are: one son, Jay Clingman and wife Marsha of Holts Summit Missouri; two daughters, Jo Ann Mealy and husband Bob of Mokane, Missouri and Barbara Niblack and husband James of Fulton, Missouri; eight grandchildren, Deborah Mealy Bond, Pamela Mealy, Beth Mealy Melton (Tracy), Juli Niblack Huffman (Paul), Susan Clingman Mason (Ron), Jeffery Niblack (Tracey), Sarah Clingman Glass (Jon), Leah Clingman Wright (Haze); 16 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Rose Marie Sirovatka; and numerous nieces and nephews. Bernadine was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one brother, Orville Eldringhoff; and one sister, Mamie Drummond. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, April 24, 2017 at St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church in Mokane with Father Frank Bussmann officiating. Burial will be in the Callaway Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 23, 2017 at Debo Funeral Home in Fulton.
