Lorene Marie Pierce

Lorene Marie Pierce, 83, of Steedman, passed away Wednesday, September 28, 2016, at her home surrounded by family. She was born on June 27, 1933, in Tebbetts, the daughter of the late Thomas Alfred and Bessie Marie (Rogers) Kemp. On November 6, 1976 she was united in marriage to Eugene "Gene" Pierce, who preceded her in death. Lorene was a member of the Mokane Christian Church. She loved and cared for 70 plus children as a foster mother over her entire life. Those remaining to cherish her memory include: daughters, Donna Sue Wells (Ervin) of Fayette, Delores Ann Fisher of Steedman, Lisa Lynn Robbins (Dennis) of Mokane; brothers, Claude Kemp (Elizabeth), Dean Kemp (Alanna), Dale Kemp and Gale Kemp, all of Mokane; sister, Neva Shiverdecker of Mokane; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Lorene was preceded in death by her parents; son, James Steven Hiatt; granddaughter, Christine Fisher; and brothers, Francis, Cecil and John Kemp. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, October 2, 2016 at Middle River Cemetery with Pastor Sheral Johnson officiating.
