Franklin Rovira "Frank" Salmons Jr., 69, of Fulton, passed away on Monday, July 25, 2016, at the Community Living Center at Harry S. Truman Veteran's Hospital. He was born on April 8, 1947 in Fulton, the son of the late Franklin Salmons and Lillian (Sullivan) Salmons. Frank proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. Frank was an expert marksman and was the rifle range instructor at Quantico. He liked to hunt, fish, mushroom hunt and garden. He worked as a welder and pipefitter for Carolina Power and Light and Westinghouse. In 1966, Frank was united in marriage to Darlene Salts. They divorced in 1996 but maintained a close relationship. Those remaining to cherish Frank's memory include his mother, Lillian Salmons of Fulton; step-mother, Mary Salmons of Fulton; sons, Franklin Rovira Salmons III (Loretta), Jay R. Salmons, and Edward Salmons (Monica), all of Fulton; daughter, Frances Fortner (Clinton) of Fulton; brothers, Everett Raymond Salmons (Kathy) of Georgia, Patrick Dale Salmons (Lola) of Kingdom City and Roger Salmons of Fulton; sisters, Nellie Arlene Salmons, Carolyn Salmons, and Teresa Stone (Jeff), all of Fulton; 10 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father; step-father, Everett "Jug" Salmons; son, Mark Salmons; brother, Lucas Salmons; nephew, Kevin Dale Salmons. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. at Otterbein (EUB) Church, located at the intersection of County Roads 403 and 405 in Fulton, on Wednesday, August 3, 2016, with Pastor Steve Mallinckrodt officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Inurnment with Military Honors will be in Jacksonville Veteran's Cemetery at 3:00 p.m. Memorial donations are suggested to ALS Association or Welcome Home Emergency Shelter for Homeless Veterans, c/o Maupin Funeral Home, 301 Douglas Boulevard, Fulton, MO 65251.
