Wayne Boone

Wayne Boone, 86, of Fulton, passed away Sunday, June 23, 2013, at Callaway Community Hospital. He was born January 14, 1927, in Kansas City, the son of the late Leo A. Boone and the late Nenie (Blackburn) Boone. Wayne was a Coxswain in the U.S. Navy. He also ran the store room and was the groundskeeper at Harbison Walker Refractory in Fulton. Wayne will be sadly missed and remembered by his loving companion of 32 years, Cheryl Wright; two sisters, Lena Boone Holland and husband H.W. of Fulton, and Zeta Boone Lawrence and husband Jim of Fulton; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Wayne was preceded in death by one brother, Vincent Boone; two brothers-in-laws, Floyd Potts and Curtis Fetterhoff; one sister, Nina Boone Yocum; one niece, Brenda Lou Potts; and one great-nephew, Dustin W. Taylor. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 28, 2013, at Maupin Funeral Home in Fulton with Pastor Bruce Williamson officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service on Friday, also at Maupin Funeral Home. Interment will be held at Callaway Memorial Gardens in Fulton.
