John C. Senevey, 84, of Jonesburg, formerly of Auxvasse, died on Tuesday, January 01, 2013, at the Jonesburg Care Center in Jonesburg. John Clayton Senevey was born June 1, 1928 in New Bloomfield, the son of the late C. A. and Pauline Snell Senevey. At the age of two weeks, he was taken to live with the late Russell and Ann Sitton of Auxvasse. He was loved and raised with their children, Ed Sitton, Janice Poff and Dave Sitton. He also lived with the Fred Deardoff family for a time. Mr. Senevey had worked for Richardson Bass and he drove a North Callaway School Bus for 23 years. He also worked on the Callaway County, Auxvasse Special Road District and the State Highway Departments. He was married to Alene Senevey from 1971 until 1991. Later he married Virginia Boerckel Wiser on January 4, 1992, at the Fulton Senior Center in Fulton. Mr. Senevey was a member of the Auxvasse Presbyterian Church in Auxvasse. He also enjoyed working for the Highway Departments plowing snow or grading roads. Mr. Senevey enjoyed painting bird houses, feeding the squirrels, and visiting with his family and friends. Mr. Senevey is survived by: his wife, Virginia Boerckel Wiser Senevey of Jonesburg; one daughter, Paula Meyer and friend, Bud Potter of Renick; three sons, Jerry Senevey and wife, Janet, of Wellsville, Jack Senevey of Auxvasse, and Larry Senevey and wife, DiLynn of Fulton; and several grandchildren. Mr. Senevey is also survived by several step-children: Diana McChristy and husband, Rick, of Jonesburg, Victor Wiser and wife, Patsy, of rural Montgomery City, Martin Wiser and wife, Donna, of Leesville, La., and Bobbi McChristy of Mexico; a half-brother, Ronnie Senevey of Portland, Ore.; two half-sisters, Bonnie Brandt and Peggy Perrey both of Jefferson City; and special friends: Janice Poff and husband, Lyndell, and Dave Sitton of Tenn.; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mr. Senevey was preceded in death by: his parents, C. A. and Pauline Senevey; step-parents, Russell and Ann Sitton; step-children, Jo Ann and Clyde Wiser; and several brothers and sisters. Funeral services will be held at Noon on Saturday, January 5, 2013, at the Schlanker Funeral Home in Montgomery City. The Reverend Donald Deeker will officiate and interment will be in the Auxvasse Cemetery in Auxvasse. Visitation will be on Saturday from 10:00 AM until the time of the funeral. Casketbearers include Victor Wiser, Jeff Senevey, Jeremy Senevey, Bud Potter, Patrick McChristy, and Scott Whalen.
