Katherine Wilhelmina (Lehenbauer) Myers, 35, of Hatton, passed away on Thursday, February 21, 2013, at her home. She was born September 22, 1977, to the late David Lehenbauer and Linda (Pflantz) Lehenbauer. Katie was united in marriage to Jason Myers, who survives her passing at the home. Katie grew up in Hatton and went to North Callaway School. She was a wife and a mother of three young children. Katie battled osteosarcoma for two years. Through the ups and downs, triumphs and tragedies, Katie always displayed exceptional faith. Her spirit inspired and amazed. Regardless of how she felt, or how much pain she was in, there was always a smile on her face. She was always more concerned about everyone else than herself. If you asked how she was feeling, she would tell you, "not too bad" although she may have felt the world was caving in on her. Some may think that she was facing the unknown but that's not true. Because of her diagnosis, Katie had grown stronger in her faith and her walk with the Lord. It was because of this faith that she continued to stay so strong. It was not only Katie that grew stronger, everyone she touched grew stronger with her. In life, bad things happen. It is human nature to question why. Truth is no one knows why, but there are good things that come out of bad situations. The Myers family is a shining example of that. Regardless of their situation, their faith and love for one another is unbreakable. Their story is one we can all learn from. Katie and her entire family continue to inspire us each and every day. Katie is now free, singing with the angels and dancing with the King. In addition to her mother and her husband, Katie will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by three children, Grace Myers, Drake Myers, and Devin Myers; two brothers, Jeffery Lehenbauer and wife, Kara, of Auxvasse and Steven Lehenbauer and wife, Janet, of Auxvasse; one sister, Melinda Heiner and husband, John, of Highlands Ranch, Colorado. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. on Monday, February 25, 2013, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Columbia with Reverend Ron Lehenbauer officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 24, 2013, also at Trinity Lutheran Church in Columbia. Interment will be held at Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Hatton. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Katie Myers Children's College Trust Fund. Please make checks payable to Maupin Funeral Home. Donations may be sent c/o Maupin Funeral Home, 301 Douglas Blvd., Fulton, MO 65251. Online condolences maybe be shared at www.MaupinFuneralHome.com.
