Robert Kent "Glass" Glascock, 55, passed away Tuesday, December 17, 2013, at his home. He was born April 8, 1958 in Fulton, the son of the late Ivan "Glen" Glascock and the late Irene Nesbit (Vier) Glascock. Kent attended Fulton Public Schools. He loved to ride motorcycles, swim, hold barbeques and do most anything outdoors. Over the years, he worked on a shrimp boat, construction crew, Fulton State Hospital, did apartment maintenance, heating and plumbing, landscaping, painting, tiling, tuckpointing and home health care to name a few. When Kent's first child, Brandon, was born, Kent stayed home to take care of him. It was one of the happiest times of his life. He furnished their house with Chicago "alley finds" and made it look like a magazine spread for Country Living. He did a wonderful job of creating a nurturing environment, plus was a creative and good cook. He hosted beautiful Christmas dinners for his entire family. Kent inherited his mother's "can-do-anything" skills and his father's love of nature and learning. Much like his father, Kent has tried to instill in his children the riches of learning and experiences, creating knowledge and memories that cannot be broken or taken away. Kent was a kind, gentle, soft spoken man who loved his family and friends deeply. He will be missed by all who knew him. Kent is survived by his children Brandon and Sophia Glascock and their mother Pamela (Franklin) Glascock; sister, Linda O'Bryant of Illinois.; brother, Gary Glascock of Arkansas.; and very good friends, Terry and Sonia Foster. Kent's wishes were to be cremated and a memorial service to be held in the summer. The family suggests memorial donations be made to Kent's family, c/o Maupin Funeral Home, 301 Douglas Boulevard, Fulton, MO 65251. Condolences can be left for the family at www.maupinfuneralhome.com.
