Lee Roderick, 87, of Jackson, Mo., died Thursday, August 8, 2013, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. He was born August 2, 1926, in Upton, Mo., to Leonard W. and Gracie Baker Roderick. He and Lorraine Slaughter were married on July 30, 1948. Lee served honorably in the U.S. Army from May 30, 1945 to October 26, 1946. He worked 40 years in shoe manufacturing, retiring as superintent of Juvenile Shoe Company in 1989. He previously attended the Hickory Ridge Baptist Church near Upton. He was ordained as a deacon and served faithfully in church all of his life. He was presently a member of Crossroads Fellowship Church in Jackson. Loving survivors include: his wife of 65 years, Lorraine of Jackson; three children, Linda (T. Wayne) Lewis of Jackson, Doug (Kathy) Roderick of Fulton, Mo., David (Tami) Roderick of Collinsville, Ill.; 12 grandchildren, Chris Lewis, Lisken Veare, Tracey Cox, Brad Stockton, Morgan Richardson, Matthew, Brad, Ben, Kara, Zack, Christian, and Tori Roderick; 15 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and 11 siblings. The visitation and funeral service were held on Sunday, August 11, 2013, at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson. Burial was Monday, August 12, 2013, at Hickory Ridge Cemetery in Upton. Memorials may take the form of contributions to Crossroads Fellowship.
