Nellie Lucille Laube

Nellie Lucille (Schmid) Laube, 95, of Fulton, passed away Friday, August 9, 2013, at Fulton Presbyterian Manor. She was born October 23, 1917, in Steedman, the daughter of the late Emil Schmid and the late Minnie (Vandeloecht) Schmid. Nellie was a member of the Mokane United Methodist Church and the Mokane Eastern Star, where she received her 75 year pin. Nellie and her husband owned and operated the Mokane Telephone Company. She also worked as a bookkeeper at J.C.Penney for over 30 years. On April 16, 1941, she was united in marriage to Russell R. Laube, who preceded her in death on January 26, 2003. Nellie will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by two sisters, Helen Tennyson and Ruth Powell; two sisters- in-law, Romaine Schmid and Alma Schmid; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and her husband, Nellie was preceded in death by two brothers, Harry Schmid and Delbert Schmid; and one sister, Gladys Jones. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 13, 2013, at Maupin Funeral Home in Fulton with Pastor Bruce Williamson officiating. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service also on Tuesday at Maupin Funeral Home. Interment will be held at Callaway Memorial Gardens in Fulton.
