John Joseph Heitzman

John Joseph Heitzman, 86, of Williamsburg passed away on Friday, August, 31, 2012, at the Veterans Home in Mexico, Mo. He was born March 24, 1926, in St. Louis, the son of the late Edward Heitzman and the late Frances (Reese) Heitzman. On May 20, 2000, he was united in marriage to Rita Joan (Doczy) Heitzman, who survives his passing. John was a member of the US Navy and served in World War II. He was a member of the Fulton VFW post 2657 and the Williamsburg Community Club. John enjoyed spending time with family and his beloved puppy, Gracie. In addition to his wife, John will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by two step-daughters, Kathleen Fraser and husband, Jeffrey, of St. Peters, Mo, and Sandra Palisch and husband, Terrence, of Richardson, Texas; one sister, Rita Walker of Independence; three grandchildren, Zachary, Austin, and Jacob Palisch; and numerous nieces and nephews. John was preceded in death by one brother, Edward Heitzman; and three sisters, Bertha Foran, Frances Keady, and Betty Dreyer. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. on Monday, September 3, 2012, at Bethel United Methodist Church in Readsville with Mary Maddox officiating. Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service also at Bethel United Methodist Church. Interment will be held in the Bethel Cemetery.
