Joy Elizabeth Underwood, 80, of Fulton, passed away on Tuesday, October 23, 2012, at Callaway Community Hospital. She was born September 19, 1932, in Callaway County, the daughter of the late Wilbur Banks and Hettie Elizabeth (Dane) Vaughn. Joy married the love of her life, Charles Underwood, on September 24, 1949. Even after 63 years of marriage, they would still be seen holding hands and enjoying each other's company. Charles survives at their home. Joy was a member of White Cloud Church. She was a talented seamstress and enjoyed working in her flower gardens. She was a dedicated homemaker and farmed along-side her husband. Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Charles; son, Jesse Lee Underwood; daughters, Helen Joyce Burbridge and Nancy Loucile Miller; sister, Mabel Fischer; 13 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Helen Kimbell; brothers-in-law, Frank Kimbell and Marvin Fischer; and son-in-law, Edward Holt. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, October 26, 2012, at Debo Funeral Home, in Fulton, with Reverend James Kimbell officiating. Interment will follow at White Cloud Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 9 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
