Lois Dean (Marshall) Zimmerman

Lois Dean (Marshall) Zimmerman, 81, of Fulton, passed away Monday, October 15, 2012, at her home. She was born June 8, 1931, in Fulton, the daughter of the late Carl Crittenton Marshall and the late Lillie Valley Ridgel. On January 14, 1950, she was united in marriage to Joseph Warren "Zim" Zimmerman, who preceded her in death on June 28, 2012. Lois was co-owner of Zim's Clothing for 40 years until her retirement. She was also employed by Brown Shoe Company from the late 1950's until the early 1960's. At that time, an Italian evening "Dance" shoe was being made at Brown named "DeLesso Debs". Since she was known to love dancing, Lois was given a pair off the line for each style so she could test them at the Eagles Club with her husband. She was also known for her famous apple pie. Dale LaRue loved them so much that he asked for one for his friends in the Sawyer Brown Band. Lois will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by one son, Dennis Zimmerman and wife Kathy of Fulton; one daughter, Debi McIntire and husband Bill of Fulton; one grandson, Kai Zimmerman of Fulton; two brothers, Carl "Bill" Marshall of Lebanon, Ind., and Emerson Marshall of Fulton. She also leaves behind several sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and her wonderful caregivers, Josh Daro and Christy Bailor. In addition to her parents and husband, Lois was preceded in death by two brothers, Walter Marshall and Eddie Marshall; and one sister, Francis Marshall Boone. A Celebration of Life for Lois and Warren will be 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 27, 2012, at Mokane Bar and Grill. Memorial contributions may be made to the Callaway Betterment Foundation (Fulton Animal Shelter), c/o Maupin Funeral Home, 301 Douglas Blvd., Fulton, MO 65251.
