Raymond A. Rothermich, 80, of Auxvasse, passed away Wednesday, June 6, 2012, at his home. Ray was born December 23, 1931, in St. Charles, the son of Linus and Gertrude (Wapelhorst) Rothermich. On January 28, 1961, at St. Brendan Catholic Church in Mexico, he married Estella Elam. She survives. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during the Korean Conflict. He was a farmer and a member of St. Brendan Catholic Church. He served on the Callaway Electric Board of Directors for 35 years, North Callaway School Board, and the Callaway County ASCS Committee. He was an avid deer hunter and fisherman. He loved his farm, family, and friends. Survivors include: his wife, Estella of the home; three children, Brenda Hale and husband Jim of Martinsburg, Linus Rothermich and wife Stephanie of Auxvasse and Jim Rothermich and wife Brenda of West Des Moines, Iowa; four grandchildren, Lydia and Gabe Hale, Matthew and Kathryn Rothermich; and one brother, Joseph "Joe" Rothermich of Benson, Ariz. He was preceded in death by: his parents, four brothers, Alfred "Tom" Rothermich, Warren "Squeaks" Rothermich, Wilfred "Jack" Rothermich and Omar "Biggs" Rothermich; and one sister, Frances "Speedy" Eckler. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Brendan Catholic Church with Fr. John Schmitz and Fr. Greg Oligschlaeger officiating. A visitation will be from 5-7:30 p.m. Thursday at Arnold Funeral Home with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Burial will be in St. Brendan Cemetery.
