Mary M. "Gary" Muir Barnes

Mary M. "Gary" Muir Barnes, 80, of Linden, New Jersey, entered into eternal rest on Monday, January 23, 2012, at home surrounded by her loving family. Mary was born in Mount Union, Penn. She moved to Fulton with her family and graduated from Fulton High School in 1949. She moved to Linden in 1951. Mary was employed by the City of Linden Treasurers Office as a payroll clerk for five years retiring in 1985. Previously she was employed by the Exxon Corp. Linden as a phone operator/test car driver. Mary was the beloved wife of the late George C. Barnes who died in 1986 and is survived by her son, George M. Barnes and his wife Karen Ann of Linden, and a daughter, Mary Jean Barnes and her husband, Michael Maye of Berkeley Heights, N.J.; and loving grandmother of Allyssa Marie Barnes and Jennifer Lynn Barnes. Funeral services were held on January 27, 2012, at the Leonard-Lee Funeral Home in Linden. In lieu of flowers, donations to Center for Hope Hospice, 1900 Raritan Road Scotch Plains, N.J. 07076 in her memory would be appreciated.
