Paul Emerson Willett, 86, of Fulton, Mo., passed away on Friday, January 6, 2012. He was born to Roy Baker Willett and Wilhelmina (Minnie) Metz Willett on January 19, 1925, in Fulton, Mo. On February 4, 1950, he was united in marriage to Billie Reeves at the Court Street Methodist Church in Fulton. Paul was an officer in the United States Army from 1943 to 1972. He was more proud of his military career than anything else he had accomplished. He joined Gene Hamilton in the Prosecuting Attorney's office in 1972. In 1980, he was elected Callaway County Judge (later Commissioner) for three terms from the Western District. After his retirement, Paul and Billie traveled extensively to every state and many foreign countries and attended rallies in their Airstream Trailer. Paul's loss will be felt deeply by his family and the many friends throughout this county and across the country. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Billie Willett; one daughter, Robin Taylor of Atlanta, Ga.; one grandson, David Taylor and wife, Dawn, of Leeds, Ala.; and one great-grandson, David H. Taylor II of Leeds, Ala. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 10, 2012, at Maupin Funeral Home with Pastor Bruce Williamson officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service at Maupin Funeral Home. Interment will be held at Central Christian Church Cemetery with full military honors.
