Robert Wayne Tinkle

Robert Wayne Tinkle, 76, of Fulton, died Tuesday, May 17, 2011, in Columbia. Robert was born October 22, 1934, in Duncan, Okla., to Aaron James and Winnye Okemah Williams Tinkle. On December 16, 1955, in Ayer, Mass., he married Virginia Breese. He was a loving husband, father and mentor to the family. Robert was a retired Colonel from the U.S. Army having served in Korea and Vietnam. He completed his Masters Degrees in Political Science and Public Administration and had worked toward a PhD in Political Science. He taught Political Science and Military Science (ROTC) at Westminster College in Fulton. Robert is survived by his wife Virginia; two daughters, Kathleen Wilson of Fulton and Nikki Wade of Columbia; two sons, James of Russellville, Ark. and Robert of Roswell, Ga.; five grandchildren and one great- grandchild. Robert chose to be cremated. A private family service will be held. Arrangements by Columbia Cremation Care Cente, 573-874-3635.
