Orlue Taylor, 92, of Mokane, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, June 22, 2011, at Riverview Nursing Center. She was born October 7, 1918, in Mokane, Missouri, the daughter of Joseph C. and Cordie (Lyons) Smart. On April 21, 1937, she was united in marriage to Richard Ray Taylor, who preceded her in death on October 20, 1994. Orlue graduated from Mokane High School in 1936. She worked at Backer's Potato Chip Factory and then at the bookstore at William Woods College. She was a member of the Mokane Christian Church, Callaway County Democratic Club, Callaway County Central Committee, 50 year member of the Polenz Club, Mokane Merry Makers, Busy Beavers 4-H Leader and a Sunday school teacher. She enjoyed gardening and making crafts. She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by two sons, Gary Taylor and his wife, Lana, of Mokane, Missouri and Donald Taylor and his wife, Gloria, of Mokane, Missouri; one daughter, Patsy Ray Rogers and her husband, Bud, of Mokane, Missouri; 13 grandchildren; 25 great- grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. Her parents, husband, two sons, Andrew Jackson "Pete" Taylor and Robert "Bob" Taylor; two grandsons, John Franklin Taylor and Danny Rogers and two brothers, Jack Smart and Nick Smart, preceded her in death. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 24, 2011, at Maupin Funeral Home in Fulton, Missouri, with Pastor Bruce Williamson officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service on Friday. Interment will be held at Mokane Cemetery.
