Prep Baseball: Moberly 15, North Callaway 3

The North Callaway Thunderbirds concluded their action in the 24th annual Fulton Tournament with a 15-3 loss in five innings to the Moberly Spartans on Wednesday in the loser's bracket semifinals at Westminster College.

North Callaway, the No. 7 seed in the seven-team tournament, falls to 8-12 this season.

Moberly scored 10 runs in the second inning and five in the fourth, while North Callaway tallied all of its runs in the second.

Dawson Wright finished 2-for-2 with a double, a run scored and a walk to lead the Thunderbirds. Josh McCowan reached base for the 19th consecutive game.

Slaten Webster took the loss on the mound, allowing six runs with three walks.

Josh Price earned the win for the Spartans (5-11), allowing three runs (one earned) on two hits and a walk with two strikeouts in three innings.

Moberly will face Mexico at 6:30 p.m. today in the fifth-place game.

North Callaway will host Silex and Montgomery County on Monday. The first game will start at 5 p.m.
