Junior center Mikal Meriwether tallied a double-double with 19 points and 17 rebounds in the Eagles' home loss to the Tigers on Thursday night.
MSD (6-3) trailed 17-12 after one quarter and was outscored by Wellsville 15-9 in the second quarter to fall behind 32-21 at halftime. The Tigers then outscored the Eagles 19-12 in the third quarter to widen their lead to 51-33.
Sophomore guard Jayden Riordan added 13 points and seven rebounds for MSD.
Clayton Ebers connected for a game-high 24 points to pace three players in double figures for Wellsville. Dennis Hunt and Keatan Meyers contributed 10 points apiece.
The Eagles play at Columbia Independent at 6 p.m. Tuesday.
