Girls' basketball: Clubb, Lady Bulldogs cruise past New Haven 57-23

NEW HAVEN - South Callaway sophomore guard Paige Clubb connected for a game-high 26 points as the Lady Bulldogs trampled the New Haven Lady Shamrocks 57-23 on Wednesday night.

South Callaway (11-3) raced to a 22-9 advantage after one quarter and charged into halftime with a 37-13 lead. The Lady Bulldogs then outscored New Haven 18-6 in the third quarter to go up 55-19.

Freshman guard Raegan Brown chipped in with 15 points for South Callaway and freshman guard Hailee Potter followed with 10.

"Although I thought our pace was much slower than it should have been, we were still able to force a multitude of turnovers and transition for points," Lady Bulldogs head coach Darren Humphrey said. "With the kind of pressure we exert on defense, it created our offense.

"We were able to drive the lane and connect multiple times."

Hannah Rethemeyer scored six points for New Haven.

South Callaway squares off against St. Clair at 10 a.m. Saturday in the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame Classic at Father Tolton in Columbia.
