MOKANE — The No. 8 seed Ladybirds broke a 26-all tie by edging the No. 7 Lady Shamrocks 10-6 in the fourth quarter of the seventh-place game of the South Callaway Invitational Tournament on Thursday night.

North Callaway (4-9) — halting a four-game losing streak — led 4-3 after one quarter and 18-16 at halftime. New Haven (6-7) outscored the Ladybirds 10-8 in the third quarter to pull even.

Senior guard Kenzie Ausfahl delivered 16 points, four rebounds and three steals to guide North Callaway. Ausfahl was named to the all-tournament team.

Junior guard Daelyn Schmauch added six points, four steals and three assists for the Ladybirds.

"I was really happy with the girls' performance, beating a team that came into the tournament playing its best basketball," North Callaway head coach Morgan Beamer said.

McKenzie Overschmidt topped the Lady Shamrocks with a game-high 11 points and Makenzie Munsinger contributed 10.

The Ladybirds return to Eastern Missouri Conference play with a trip to Clopton at 6 p.m. Thursday. North Callaway is 2-1 in the EMO.
