Girls' basketball: Brown steers Lady Bulldogs to 65-43 Show-Me rout of Linn

LINN - South Callaway freshman guard Raegan Brown delivered a game-high 22 points to trigger the Lady Bulldogs' 65-43 Show-Me Conference rout of Linn on Tuesday night.

South Callaway (17-6, 7-0 SMC) was in charge from the outset, bolting to a 23-2 lead after one quarter. The Lady Bulldogs were on top 34-13 at halftime and outscored Linn 25-14 in the third quarter to open up an imposing 59-27 advantage.

Sophomore guard Paige Clubb supplied 17 points for South Callaway.

"Offensively, we moved the ball as well as we have all year and absolutely dominated the boards," Lady Bulldogs head coach Darren Humphrey said. "It was a terrific win rebounding from our loss to St. Clair (79-56 on Saturday).

"The girls came out with determination, which created a very strong start. As we get closer and closer to districts, we have to rely on making great decisions and if (Tuesday night) was any indication, our team is a very strong competitor."

Chloe Rhoden paced Linn with 17 points and Jessica Kielholz contributed 10.

South Callaway attempted to lock up its second straight SMC title in a showdown at Fatima on Wednesday night to end the regular season. Results were not available at press time.
