Tim Rulo has been hired as the head football coach at Chillicothe High School, it was announced Saturday.
Rulo, 37, spent the last three seasons at Helias, compiling a record of 17-18 with a pair of district championship game appearances. He was relieved of his duties after the season.
Rulo also coached for six years at South Callaway, leading the Bulldogs to the Class 2 state championship game in the 2014 season.
Chillicothe finished 10-2 this season, falling to Maryville in the Class 3 District 8 title game.
Rulo replaces Phil Willard, who retired in mid-December.
Willard had been the head coach at Chillicothe since 1998, finishing with a career record of 144-74.
Chris Hentges was hired for a second stint as head coach at Helias to replace Rulo.
