Girls' basketball: Lady Bulldogs' Mann named Show-Me MVP

MOKANE - South Callaway senior guard Adrian Mann recently was named the most valuable player on the 2017-18 all-Show-Me Conference girls' basketball team.

Mann - who has signed to play at Division I Nicholls State (Louisiana) University - was joined on the all-SMC first team from the Lady Bulldogs by freshman guard Paige Clubb.

South Callaway freshman forward DeLaney Horstman was a second-team selection and senior guard Ashley Potter earned honorable-mention status.

Mann and Clubb were also chosen to the Class 3, all-District 9 squad. The Lady Bulldogs defeated Hermann 78-70 for the District 9 championship Feb. 23 in Westphalia.

South Callaway locked up the SMC title with a perfect 8-0 mark, securing its first conference championship since 1990. The Lady Bulldogs - ranked second in the state - ended the season with a 26-1 record after bowing to Licking 63-53 in the Class 3 sectionals Feb. 28 in Rolla.
