Girls' basketball: New Bloomfield 60, Calvary Lutheran 49

NEW BLOOMFIELD - The Lady Wildcats outscored the Lady Lions 38-28 in the second half to secure their third consecutive victory Tuesday night.

Senior center Samantha Haas came up with 21 points to spark three players in double figures for New Bloomfield (4-2), which took control after only being up 22-21 at halftime. Senior guard Parker Pitzen supplied 14 points and senior forward Katie Kelley chipped in with 11.

"I liked in the second half how we came out with a lot more defensive intensity," Lady Wildcats head coach Brett Craighead said. "We played harder all-around.

"We weren't just walking through our (offensive) stuff - we were cutting and moving harder."

Haley Braun responded with a game-high 26 points for Calvary Lutheran and Katy Allen contributed 10.

New Bloomfield hosts Show-Me Conference opponent Chamois at 6 p.m. Thursday.
