MOKANE - The South Callaway boys dominated the field events Friday to win the team title at its home meet, the South Callaway Relays.
The Bulldogs' four event wins all came in the field events, helping them finish with 148 points in the team standings. Southern Boone was second with 122 points, followed by New Bloomfield (94), Hallsville (84) and Linn (76.5) to round out the top five.
The Southern Boone girls won with 110 points, just 2.5 points ahead of runner-up South Callaway. Russellville was third with 80 points, Linn took fourth with 63 and Iberia finished fifth with 61.5.
Picking up first-place finishes for the South Callaway boys were Hunter Schroer in the shot put, Wyatt Hager in the pole vault, Kaden Helsel in the long jump and Landon Horstman in the triple jump. The Bulldogs had at least one top-three finishers in each of the seven field events.
Payton Culwell was a double-winner in individual events for New Bloomfield, taking home titles in the boys javelin and 400-meter dash. Clayten Walker added a win in the 200-meter dash and the Wildcats took first in the 4x400-meter relay.
Linn's Cole Stephens also was a double-winner, placing first in the 800- and 1,600-meter runs. Russellville won the boys 4x800-meter relay.
The South Callaway girls came away with five event wins, taking first in the 4x100- and 4x200-meter relays. Adrian Mann won the 300-meter hurdles for the Lady Bulldogs, while Paige Clubb took first in the 200 and DeLaney Horstman claimed the title in the high jump.
Calvary Lutheran won three events Friday, starting with the girls 4x800-meter relay. Emma Homfeldt won the 800 and Amanda Braun took first in the javelin for the Lady Lions.
For Russellville's girls, Makenzie Schwartz won the 100-meter hurdles and Olivia Barnett took first in the 3,200-meter run.
Other area girls winners include Linn's Hannah Koenigsfeld in the shot put and St. Elizabeth's Andrea Schaffer in the discus.
