Prep Softball: Hannibal 3, Fulton 1

HANNIBAL, Mo. - The No. 2 seed Hannibal Lady Pirates broke a 1-all tie with two runs in the bottom of the third inning to end the No. 3 Fulton Lady Hornets' season in the Class 3, District 8 semifinals Thursday night.

Fulton - which finished with a 12-9 record - scored a run in the top of the first, but Hannibal countered with a run in the bottom of the inning to pull even. The Lady Pirates then went in front to stay in the third.

Senior designated player Kendalyn Roesner went 1-for-4 with a run batted in as the Lady Hornets collected seven hits. Freshman left fielder Rylee Hagens was 2-for-4 and scored Fulton's only run, while sophomore starter Taylor Kettle finished 1-for-3 with a double.

Kettle went the distance in taking the loss, allowing three earned runs on seven hits. She issued two walks and struck out one.
