Boys' Tennis: Fulton's Windsor, Adams go 1-2 in Class 1 doubles

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - The Fulton Hornets' doubles team of junior Haydon Windsor and senior Justin Adams was eliminated at the Class 1 state tournament after a 6-1, 7-5 loss to MICDS' Robert Basich and John Keely in the consolation semifinals Friday.

Windsor and Adams opened with a 6-0, 6-1 triumph over Bishop LeBlond's Gian Lombardino and Caleb Lombardino earlier Friday at Cooper Tennis Complex. The Fulton pair then bowed to Pembroke Hill's Thomas Thornton and Matthew Gernon in a 6-4, 6-2 quarterfinal loss.

Windsor and Adams finished the season with a 15-5 record.

"They played well, considering the circumstances," Hornets head coach Rob Fisher said. "For one, you're facing the best of the best, and two, they haven't seen a lot of these opponents.

"Any time they got down, they found a way to fight back."
