Track & Field: South Callaway girls move on to state in four events

RUSSELLVILLE, Mo. - The Russellville Lady Bulldogs advanced to the Class 2 state championships in four events and placed fifth as a team at the Sectional 2 championships Saturday.

New Bloomfield qualified for state in two events and finished 11th overall.

The top four finishers in each event will compete Friday and Saturday in the Class 2 state championships at Jefferson City High School's Adkins Stadium.

Junior Kaci Jordan won the triple jump at 33 feet, 5 1/2 inches and junior Ashley Potter was victorious in the long jump at 15-8 1/2 as South Callaway logged 55 points. Jordan also came in third in the long jump (15-7 1/2).

Freshman Raeghan Meyer took second in the pole vault (8-6) for the Lady Bulldogs and junior Adrian Mann was third in the 100-meter hurdles (16.81 seconds).

Sophomore Samantha Haas finished second in the triple jump (32-5) as New Bloomfield recorded 26 points. Haas joined with junior Mckenna Rackers and sophomores Parker Pitzen and Mackenzie Garrett to place fourth in the 800 relay (1:56.46).
