JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - The No. 2 seed Fulton Hornets won just one singles and doubles match in tumbling to the top-seeded Helias Crusaders 5-2 for the Class 1, District 8 championship Wednesday night at Washington Park.
Fulton - which bowed to Helias in a 5-4 loss on May 2 in Jefferson City - ended the season with an 11-5 record.
"Everybody improved and looked better in their matches," Hornets head coach Rob Fisher said Wednesday night. "The score is not quite reflective of how well they played."

No. 1 singles: junior Haydon Windsor (F) defeated Dalton Buschjost (H), 6-3, 6-1; No. 4: Seth Pezley (H) def. senior Grant Hendricks (F), 3-6, 6-4 (10-8); No. 5: Jordan Roling (H) def. junior Devin Ferro (F), 6-1, 6-1; No. 6: Jacob Cowley (H) def. senior James Hill (F), 6-3, 6-2.
No. 1 doubles: Windsor/senior Justin Adams (F) def. Buschjost/Tristan Grawe (H), 8-4; No. 2: Roling/Cance Pool (H) def. Hendricks/freshman Aiden Petterson (F), 8-3; No. 3: Pezley/Cowley (H) def. Ferro/Hill (F), 8-1.
Fulton competes in the District 8 individual tournament at 9 a.m. Saturday in Jefferson City.
