MONTGOMERY CITY, Mo. - Senior Tayler Vaughn and junior Ryan Weber shot a pair of 46s to steer the North Callaway Thunderbirds to a third-place finish in Tuesday's season-opening quad meet.
North Callaway compiled a 208 team score. Montgomery County - paced by medalist Aubrey Nelson's even-par 35 - was victorious with a 157 total, while Elsberry took second with a 198 and Mexico was fourth behind the Thunderbirds with a 244.
Sophomore Logan Hampton added a 57 for North Callaway and junior Nathan Sherwood tallied a 59.
The Thunderbirds compete in the Russellville Invitational on Wednesday, March 29.
