Hornet wrestlers topple Kirksville

KIRKSVILLE, Mo. — The Fulton Hornets wrestling team triumphed in seven of the eight contested matches — five by pin — in charging to a decisive 44-18 North Central Missouri Conference victory over Kirksville on Tuesday night.

Fulton raised its season dual record to 7-3 and moved to 2-1 in the NCMC.

"We were very aggressive," Hornets head coach Eric Hudson said. "We almost exclusively did the things we worked on in practice. We had awesome execution out of almost every wrestler tonight.

"The kids looked very good."

106 pounds: freshman Jackson Caswell (F) pinned Austin Beford (K), 1:26; 113: Gavin Robertson (K) won by forfeit; 120: junior Solomon Huff (F) pinned Aidan Sizemore (K), 1:42; 126: senior Brandon Dews (F) pinned Jack Snyder (K), :48; 132: junior Tucker Caswell (F) won by 15-1 major decision over Blake Howard (K);

138: senior Devan Hudson (F) pinned Blaine DeVolld (K), :47; 145: junior Jacob Kern (F) won by 13-3 major decision over Parker Laudwig (K); 152: Luca Tornatore (K) won by forfeit; 160: sophomore Quentin Ferguson (F) pinned Thailer Jones (K), 1:23; 170: junior Colton Bristol (F) won by forfeit;

Fulton competes Friday and Saturday at the St. Charles Tournament.
