Boys' Basketball: St. Elizabeth 61, New Bloomfield 59

ST. ELIZABETH, Mo. - The New Bloomfield Wildcats closed out their regular season with a Show-Me Conference loss to the St. Elizabeth Hornets on Thursday night.

New Bloomfield (15-10, 2-6 SMC) trailed 18-9 after the first quarter and faced a 41-30 deficit at halftime. The Wildcats outscored St. Elizabeth 13-12 in the third period, but the Hornets maintained a 53-43 advantage.

Sophomore guard Andrew Powell led New Bloomfield with 20 points, while junior forward Jak Kitchens came up with 15.

The Wildcats are the No. 5 seed in the Class 2, District 8 Tournament this week in Sturgeon. New Bloomfield plays the No. 4 seed Linn Wildcats at 6 p.m. today. New Bloomfield lost to Linn 53-48 on Jan. 20 in Linn.
