Women's Basketball: Lindenwood-Belleville 72, William Woods 69

BELLEVILLE, Ill. - The WWU Lady Owls' six-game winning streak was ended by the No. 23 Lindenwood-Belleville Lady Lynx in an American Midwest Conference game on Tuesday.

William Woods (17-8, 14-6 AMC) - which previously lost to Lindenwood-Belleville 66-63 on Jan. 3 in Fulton -trailed 18-17 after the first quarter. The Lady Owls outscored the Lady Lynx 20-15 in the second period to take a 37-33 advantage at halftime. Lindenwood-Belleville (18-7, 14-5) paced William Woods 21-9 in the third quarter to take a 54-46 lead.

Junior guard Jasmine Brown directed the Lady Owls - who shot 41 percent (26-of-63) from the field - with a game-high 23 points. Freshman guard Peyton Greenlee totaled 14 points, while sophomore guard Bailey Rollins came up with 10.

Brown led William Woods with eight rebounds, but the Lady Lynx took a 45-31 edge on the boards.

Alison Webb led Lindenwood-Belleville - which went 46 percent (27-of-59) from the floor - with 22 points and 16 rebounds. Brianna Mueller and Torre Kohrmann provided 18 points apiece.

William Woods will host an AMC game against Williams Baptist (Ark.) College at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at Anderson Arena. The Lady Owls beat the Lady Eagles 65-58 on Jan. 5 in Walnut Ridge, Ark.
