Prep Volleyball: Southern Boone 2, North Callaway 0

KINGDOM CITY, Mo. - The North Callaway Ladybirds slipped to 1-1 on the season after a 25-19, 25-19 loss to the Southern Boone Lady Indians in Tuesday night's home opener.

Senior middle hitter Colleen Meffert tallied three kills, five digs and two blocks to guide North Callaway, while senior defensive specialist Callista Dollinger also had five digs. Junior setter Allyson Eichman added five assists, a block and an ace, followed by junior outside hitter Sydney Harrison with four digs.

"Although we didn't come away with a win, the girls played very well," Ladybirds head coach Jessica Hager said. "Southern Boone is a solid team and we gained a lot of valuable experience by competing with them."

North Callaway remains at home for its Eastern Missouri Conference opener against Montgomery County at 5:30 p.m. today.
