College women's soccer: Westminster 3, Hendrix (Ark.) 3

Sophomore forward Kate Ponder scored two goals as the host Lady Blue Jays played to a double-overtime tie with the Lady Warriors on Friday night.

Hendrix (2-2-2) quickly jumped in front on Hagan Griffith's goal in the 3rd minute. Westminster College (0-4-1) pulled even on freshman defender Shannon Kauffman's first career goal in the 18th minute, then took a 2-1 lead on Ponder's first goal in the 28th minute.

The Lady Blue Jays extended their advantage on Ponder's other goal in the 61st minute, but the Lady Warriors needed just 51 seconds to narrow the gap to 3-2 on Claire Huchingson's goal.

Griffith then forced overtime when she supplied her second goal in the 80th minute to tie the game.

The two teams were then scoreless through the two extra periods.

Hendrix outshot Westminster 23-13, including 13-8 in shots on goal. The Lady Warriors also finished with a 4-2 advantage in corner kicks.

Senior goalkeeper Sarah Cradick recorded 10 saves for the Lady Blue Jays.

Westminster remains at home to face Nebraska Wesleyan at 3 p.m. today.
