The William Woods Owls slipped to 2-4 on the season after being shut out 2-0 by the Northwestern (Iowa) Raiders on Saturday at Firley Field.

William Woods University was outshot 16-12, including 10-6 in shots on goal. Northwestern also possessed a 7-4 edge in corner kicks.

The Owls were coming off a 3-2 victory against No. 14 Bellevue (Neb.) in their home opener last Thursday night. Sophomore midfielder Jagan Crane, junior defender Darren Wilson and sophomore forward Billy Nzojyibwami accounted for William Woods' goals.

The Owls host their American Midwest Conference opener against Lindenwood-Belleville (Ill.) at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 17.
