Women's basketball: William Woods 78, Stephens 30

COLUMBIA - Junior guard Peyton Greenlee connected for a game-high 12 points as the Lady Owls flattened the winless Lady Stars in Saturday's American Midwest Conference romp.

William Woods University easily captured its second win in a row to improve to 5-2 overall and 2-0 in the AMC. The Lady Owls established control from the outset, racing to a 21-5 lead after one quarter and rolling into halftime with a 39-12 advantage.

Junior guard Kaycee Gerald also logged 11 points for William Woods, which shot 41 percent (25-of-61) from the field. Gerald collected a game-high seven rebounds to help carry the Lady Owls to an emphatic 58-29 edge on the boards.

Stephens College (0-6) - playing its AMC opener - didn't have any players score in double figures and shot a feeble 20 percent (11-of-55) as a team.

William Woods plays at NCAA Division I Western Illinois at 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 26.
