Blue Jays to face Washington (Mo.) in NCAA women's soccer tournament first round

The Westminster Blue Jays are set to face Washington University in the first round of the NCAA Division III Women's Soccer Tournament during the unveiling of the bracket Monday.

The match is scheduled for 5 p.m. Saturday at Francis Field in St. Louis.

Westminster (11-4-3) received an automatic bid to the national tournament by winning the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Tournament. The Blue Jays defeated Greenville 3-2 in double overtime in Friday's championship game.

Washington (17-0), which is ranked No. 1 in Division III, won its fourth straight University Athletic Association championship to earn an automatic bid into the tournament. The Bears are one of two remaining undefeated teams in Division III.

Illinois Wesleyan and Mount St. Joseph will play in the other first-round match at 7:30 p.m. Saturday. The winners of the two games will face each other in the second round at 6 p.m. Sunday for a berth into the sectional semifinals.
